Within the Community Resource and Grant
Development
Center our team of
consultants continuously identify and research in depth
available grants and other resources that will benefit
our community. Upon identifying relevant funding
resources, we will email available opportunities when we
can. Otherwise,
most opportunities are bookmarked so that you can easily
access them when you come into the Center.
Please remember that responding to grant
opportunities are time sensitive and that you must be
proactive in meeting the funder’s deadline for
submitting your proposals.
JOB
PREPARATION, PLACEMENT, CAREER ADVANCEMENT AND COMPUTER
TRAINING
A.C.E.S.
will train collaborating organizations to facilitate a
two-week job preparation and placement workshop. These
workshops are designed to assist the low-skilled,
unemployed, disadvantaged population with finding work,
building skills to advance on the job and introduce them
to work place ethics using software specifically designed
for employees to help them better understand their
employers needs. Career advancement assistance will
available to those lacking high school credentials. Services
to participants of the program are free.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
FOR RESIDENTS
Assist
businesses with filling job openings by referring
qualified community applicants to them. Qualified
applicants will have successfully completed the job
preparation workshop Applicants will have been pre-
screened for
drugs and will be ready to work. Services
to employers are free..
FATHERS
AT WORK CHILD SUPPORT INITIATIVE
Select
organizations participating in the collaboration will
provide scheduled groups sessions for non-custodial
fathers to attend and bond with other dads seeking to
establish paternity for their children. Collaborating
partners will assist fathers graduating from the workshops
with employment opportunities and we will help them
navigate the process to set-up a payment plan with the
Division of Child Support. Mediation services will be
provided on site to assist families with difficulties
reaching agreements pertaining to their child(ren). Local
area attorneys will be on-site once a week to meet with
fathers seeking legal advice on father’s rights.
Services to
non-custodial fathers are free.
WOMEN
IN BUSINESS
A.C.E.S.
and business representatives will facilitate workshops for
women seeking business ownership. Systematically we will
provide assistance in developing a business plan and
identify institutions able to provide financial support.
Services to
women are free.
ADVOCATES FOR THE AGING
Identify as many senior citizens in the community as
possible. The goal of the collaboration will be for
non-related families to adopt a senior. We want to get
seniors active and participating in either jobs or
volunteer work and to make sure that their immediate needs
are met.
Services to seniors are free.
YOUTH
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Select
organizations participating in the collaboration will
provide scheduled workshops for youth to get them prepared
for the business world. Workshops will include but
will not be limited to the World of Debating, Financial
Planning, Business Ventures, What about Banks, Is College
the only Answer? Working in Social Services, Are you
struggling in School? In addition, to other topics
pertaining to youth.
